Downtown San Bernardino is the hub for public services, and home to two government headquarters – San Bernardino City Hall and the San Bernardino County Building. From Employment Services to Parks, Public Works and Water, these Downtown departments are kept running smoothly by thousands of qualified and professional city employees – all working for you.

    This Superior Courthouse located on Arrowhead and Third Street is the place to resolve civil, family, criminal and traffic issues.

    The City Attorney's Office provides legal counsel and representation for the City, prosecutes and defends legal actions, and protects the interests of the public.
  • San Bernardino County District Attorney
    The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office represents the interests of the people in the criminal justice system by: seeking the truth; protecting the innocent; holding the guilty accountable; preserving the dignity of victims and their families; and, ensuring that justice is done while always maintaining the highest ethical standards.
     

Safety and Law Enforcement

  • City of San Bernardino Fire Department
    Station 221 is the base for many San Bernardino firefighters. These employees make Downtown a safe place to live – they are trained professionals with Paramedic, Hazmat, Investigations and Search and Rescue skills.
  • San Bernardino Police Department
    With over 100 years of service, this Downtown department is comprised of the city’s best, brightest and bravest. Over 300 sworn officers are employed by this department and over 150 civilians provide support – all of whom are dedicated to keeping Downtown safe.

  • City Clerk
    The City Clerk's Office consists of four divisions: Administration, Business Registration, Elections and Records Management. These divisions keep all books, papers, records and other documents; attend all meetings of the Mayor and Common Council; and keep minutes of all Council meetings.
